Hello, my gorgeous besties! I am writing after my first full day at my new job, so I am feeling very proud of myself. I am working for a kayaking company in Sausalito, putting all of my NOLS training to the test. Overall I had a really good first day and I am glad to have a Summer job where I will be outdoors constantly. I am also glad to feel useful because it was a little strange to be home not up to much while all my friends are in school. That being said I am exhausted, so this letter may not be super long!

For the past couple of weeks when I have been home I have had a little separation anxiety from my NOLS friends who I had been used to spending 24/7 with. Luckily, Rachel and Emma were just an hour's drive away and I got to go on a little outdoor adventure with them! The hike was in Woodside and it was absolutely beautiful, it's always funny to remember that there is great hiking in the Bay Area beyond just Marin. It was such a joy to catch up with my girls! Rachel is heading to WOOF in Hawaii tomorrow and Emma will soon be off to her Summer job in Montana so I was glad I caught them before they left!
17 Miles of Fun!
As you readers know, our car broke down and got towed to Monterey. Because of that, we had to go down the coast to pick it up. We decided to make a little day trip of it, our main activity was doing the 17 Miles Scenic Drive. We drove through the Pebble Beach Golf Course, by some gorgeous homes, and saw some beautiful coastline.
The News from Hanken Drive
Believe it or not, Grandpa's firm still sends him work to do, and I have been doing some secretarial work for him. This week we sat out in the yard as he dictated to me what to type. It is hard for me to understand all of the engineering stuff, but luckily I just have to type.
