Hello everyone!! I took a few weeks off of the newsletter because I have been in a little bit of a writing/creativity rut recently. So I decided to give myself a break from this and I also stopped the daily journaling that I had done for over a year. I just realized it was not serving me in the way it used to and I often become obsessed with doing the same things every single day so I am working on letting myself take breaks or quit things. But I am glad to be back! I am going to use this letter to give some fun life updates!
Hello SLO!
I went to visit Natalia in San Luis Obispo once again and luckily there was no car breakdown this time! Highlights were hiking up Madonna Mountain, meeting Layla for lunch at the Madonna Inn, eating tons of treats from Slo Do Co, Kin Coffee, and Ziggy's. Natalia and I also took a trip to Avila beach which was absolutely gorgeus. I had so much fun seeing so many friends old and new!
Clara Comes to the Bay!
My dear friend Clara from NOLS took a quick visit to the Bay from Florida and it was an absolute ball! We got to visit Dane out in Stinson, paddle in Sausalito, and frolic around San Francisco. It was also an absolute hoot that she had to drive around her grandmother's G Wagon the whole time.
Grandpa turns 92!
Your favorite Hanken Drive resident had his birthday last week which was so excited. My aunt Jane came to visit and we had so much fun celebrating.
Mini Backpacking Trip
The original place I ever backpacked was Point Reyes at as young as 8 years old, so it was so fun to return for a little trip with Annie. I put some of my NOLS skills in action (cooking pancakes and storm-proofing etc.) and had some good sister bonding time.

My lovely friend Cleo's birthday last week and we had so much fun dressing up and celebrating!
